For members with a particular interest in wines, spirits, liqueurs and crafted beverages, the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs offers the option of joining the Ordre Mondial des Gourmets Dégustateurs.

Founded in Paris in 1963, this section of the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs is enjoying growing success. Its aim is to promote the enjoyment, appreciation and knowledge of wines, spirits and beers from around the world, through dinners, tastings and competitions.

Instated in South Africa in 2005, the head of the OMGD is the Echanson who is a member of the National Committee. Each Bailliage appoints their own Vice- Echanson whose main responsibilities are to develop ideas and topics for regional events, they also help to choose wine for regular Chaîne events.     

New members are inducted at a Chapitre and receive a tastevin (tasting cup) which is attached to their regalia. Professional members receive a plaque as well.
